Deputy Clerk/Finance Officer 

The City of Gaylord has one full-time position available for a Deputy Clerk/Finance Officer. This position, under the supervision of the City Clerk, will be responsible for State, Local, and Federal election duties as assigned. This position will also be responsible for financial duties for the City, including accounts payable and completing and submitting necessary financial reports. This is a separate and distinct job from the Charter duties of the City Clerk. 

Desired Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience: Education: Associates degree in finance, accounting, or related field. Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting preferred. Related experience of 3-5 years in a municipal field may substitute for the college requirement if there is demonstrated knowledge, ability, and skills to perform the work. Three years of accounting experience within the public sector preferred. Proficient at Microsoft Suite applications. Experience with BS&A Software preferred.

Other Requirements: Resident of the City of Gaylord or of an area not more than twenty miles from the corporate boundaries of the City of Gaylord.
